The Special Reserve
The Special Reserve is a range of one off custom built instruments, re-imaginings of classic vintage designs and insights into an overactive imagination and desire to push the limits of what is possible.
These guitars will never be recreated like for like, many designs being born from a single detail, such as the specific figure of a piece of wood or a single line of a verse from Norse mythology.
Hussar Bass

A reclaimed pitch pine body with an ash and padauk core topped with English yew and bolted to a 34" scale spalted beech neck with padauk fretboard means this bass looks incredible. The custom wound, vintage voiced pickup looks and sounds like the Precision pickups of the early 1950's, but the hidden hum cancelling coil silences the unwanted noise that came with them.

Built for the 2021 Great Guitar Build Off, Yggdrasil has a semi-hollow mahogany body, hand beaten copper top, 4 piece mahogany neck with a copper bound rosewood fretboard.
No detail was overlooked with this guitar, from the custom brass and copper hardware and inlays, to the etched detailing and hand scalloped edges this instrument is a true work of art.

Built for the 2020 Great Guitar Build Off, Svalinn has a solid mahogany body, swamp ash top, American black walnut and maple neck with an ebony fretboard. Bound in over 40meters of leather, with copper plated premium hardware, custom wound humbucker pickups and an ultra thin oil finish, it sounds as good as it looks.

A take on one of our favourite vintage body styles, the Graduate is a double cutaway, single pickup no nonsense Rock 'n' Roll machine.
This Graduate features a heavily chambered mahogany body, topped with zebrano and matched with a 3 piece mahogany and flamed maple neck. The stained birdseye maple scratchplate and wenge fretboard make this a stunning instrument to both look at and play, whilst the single fitertron gives it a unique and fantastic sound.
