About 4th Avenue Guitars
4th Avenue Guitars was established in the historic city of York in 2012 by Anthony Platts.
After playing guitar for a few years and teaching himself to set up and modify his first instrument, Anthony built his first guitar as a high school project around 2001, This instrument is (luckily) lost to time and multiple house moves.

10 years later, after studying and working in archaeology and the heritage sector Anthony finally moved to a house with space for a workshop. The dream of building on the first guitar, and implementing a decade of interest and research, ever present over the previous 10 years could finally be realised.
Primarily focussing on repair and setup work, 4th Avenue Guitars was established.

Since then Anthony has worked tirelessly to build the skills and knowledge to make his schoolboy dream a reality. As a result he was offered a job building guitars full time for UKGB, manufacturing instruments for brands such as PJD guitars, Cream T guitars and Seth Baccus guitars.

4th Avenue guitars has continued to grow along with Anthony's abilities as a guitar builder and is now focussed entirely on creating heirloom quality instruments, designed to look, feel, play and sound as good as they possibly can.

Anthony's artistic side often takes over resulting in some visually unique creations and often the need to learn new skills and techniques. His desire to share and pass on his knowledge led to the creation of a YouTube channel aimed at, not only showcasing 4th Avenue guitars, but also helping and encouraging others to gain the confidence and skills to build their own instruments.
