Hussar
Taking it's name from the York pub 'The Yorkshire Hussar' these guitars are based on the classic S type instrument.
Starting with the same 25.5" scale length and double cutaway body style, each Hussar is as familiar and recognisable as it is unique.
Hussar #001
This Hussar has a 3 piece mahogany and flamed maple through neck with padauk wings and fretboard. The radius carved top and back, sandwiched between book-matched zebrano, make for an incredibly comfortable, modern styled take on a classic design. Rear mounted electronics give an uninterrupted view of the beautiful wood whilst the custom vioced pickups and sterling silver fretboard inlays pay subtle homage to one of the greatest musicians to ever wield a guitar.
Hussar #002
An experimental guitar built to test a premade neck and a small supply of reclaimed pitch pine this Hussar is a traditional instrument with a 4th Avenue Guitars twist. The English yew pickguard beautifully compliments the 2 tone sunburst, which was applied using only a blowtorch and great care.
The aluminium covered single coil pickups give a dark bluesy tone to contrast with the bright sound of the custom wound bridge Filtertron.
